The 2012 BMW 1-Series
already got its official unveiled and yet, that doesn’t seem enough for
the Bavarian carmaker. Recently, BMW announced the engine choices for
the 2012 1-Series 5-door that consists of two diesels and reliable
gasoline. It doesn’t stop there as the German automaker wants to satisfy
their 1-series customers which why they offer the M Sport package that
lowered down the suspension by 10mm with 17- and 18-inch wheels with
stunning body kit.
The first engine choice for the 2012 BMW
1-Series will be powering the 125i with 2.0L four-pot gasoline
powerplant. This engine has a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct
injection with the total power output is 218 horsepower. Taking this
German hatchback for a sprint and it can hit 0 to 62 mph in 6.4 seconds
with top speed of 152 mph or 243 km/h.
The most powerful powerplant for the
2012 1-Series comes in the form of 125d that has the same total power
output from diesel engine. Autoevolution.com reported that the top speed
is 149 mph or 240 km/h with sprint time for 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds.
BMW still has one more diesel engine for the 2012 model year of
1-Series hatchback which is 116d of EfficientDynamics in 1.6L
four-cylinder with total power output of 116 horsepower. Choosing this
model means you can go as far as 100 km with just 3.8L of fuel.
